FAQs

Common questions. Straight answers.

This work is unfamiliar to many homeowners. These answers help clarify what it is—and what it isn’t.

MYTHS VS REALITY

“My builder or designer already handles this.”

Reality:
Builders and designers do important work—but they’re each focused on their lane. Performance issues often live between trades. My role is to review decisions across systems before gaps appear.

MYTHS VS REALITY

“This is only for ultra-efficient or custom homes.”

Reality:
This applies to remodels and new builds of all types. Comfort, moisture control, and HVAC sizing matter regardless of budget or style.

MYTHS VS REALITY

“We can fix problems later.”

Reality:
Some things can be adjusted later. Many can’t—especially enclosure details and system sizing. Early decisions set the ceiling for performance.

MYTHS VS REALITY

“This sounds like energy modeling.”

Reality:
This is decision review, not modeling. I focus on clarity, risk, and coordination using practical building-science principles.

MYTHS VS REALITY

“This replaces my contractor.”

Reality:
No. This supports your contractor by reducing uncertainty and improving scope clarity.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Q: When should I reach out?

A: As early as possible—before HVAC sizing, bids, or contracts are finalized.

Q: What do you need from me?

A: Plans, specs, goals, and any questions or concerns you already have.

Q: Is this a one-time service or ongoing?

A: Most homeowners start with a one-time review. Ongoing support is optional.

Q: Do you recommend specific products or brands?

A: No. Advice is independent and system-focused.

Q: Is this worth the cost?

A: For most clients, avoiding one wrong decision covers the fee.
